This past weekend was awesome. I flew down to Fresno, California and then got a ride up to Calvin Crest camp. It was a blast. I got to see a lot of friends who I was on staff with last summer, that work there again this summer, and also a lot of friends came up that I was not expecting to see at all. I stayed with my good friends the Cosby's, and it was good, although Bryan was sick all weekend.
It was such an interesting experience, for all weekend I felt two feelings that are completely opposite. When I first got out of the car, and just walking around all weekend my mind was flooded with memories of things that occured at specific places, and it felt so much like my home. However at the same time I felt so distant, simply because I had not worked up there this summer, and I don't know most of staff.
It sounds like the majority of staff was having a hard summer up at camp, and I hope that my short visit was an encouragement to some of them.
Next summer I may work down there again, we will see, depends on a few things, but mainly where I am being led to go, and where my heart is at.
Just wait, the photos of the weekend will be up on flickr at some time, and even a few may make it up on this blog. However not until after I go back to school, and can get my computer back online.
In other news, after sitting in the Portland airport for 4 and 1/2 hours, I finally got home. My sister is home for the week to help my mom and I paint the house. So we did a little bit of work on it last night. I am sure I will be working more on it later on today.
Last night my sister and I played a little tennis, and jogged two miles.
If you could, please pray for my boss/friend Gene, for this week is a stressful one, and just a lot of hard things are going on, and he needs some help. Thanks.
