Mapey Mapey Lengai.....

Hello everyone!
This past week has been very fun, but offered up several challenges I had not expected. I was a Lengai councilor, and so I had four boys in my cabin, between the ages of 10 and 12. The title ot this post is part of the cheer that the Lengai mountain group chants all the time. The boys were a lot of fun, and I hope that throughout the week I was able to minister to them, and present Christ to them through both my words and my actions.
The weather has gotten colder up here, very similar to Seattle in the spring, lots of rain, and cool. Along with that came a lot of sickness, both to staff and the campers. Three people on staff contracted malaria while we were in Western, but since it takes 14 days before it affects someone, they all were sick this week. I did not get that thankfully, but I did get this other weird sickness. It started out on Wednesday, after 2 of my campers had been sick since Monday. First I got a pretty bad headache, and then I threw-up for about 2 hours, and couldn’t do anything other than just lay in my bed. On Thursday, I woke up, and the only symptom was a bad sore throat. After drinking lots of water, and another good nights sleep, I was much better. Today my throat is still a little sore, but I plan on taking it pretty easy the rest of the day.
This past week I have learned how I really am pretty selfish in life, and in order for Christ to actually work in and through me, I must daily carry my cross, and die to my selfish desires, and selfish ways. It is not easy, but I am getting better at serving others out of unconditional love. For this next week, please pray for health for all who are here. I hope that all is going well back home. Blessings.
