A season of marriage......

School and work and such are still keeping me ridiculously busy, this is the busiest semester I have had in college thus far-junior year is the toughest I have heard.
Don't worry, I am not getting married, it is just that SO MANY people I know are. I am in a wedding in December, one of my past room mates, another of my old room mates is now engaged, my friend Ben just recently became engaged, same with my buddy Ross, a friend of mine named Annie is getting married in the next week or so.
What really tops this list off, is that last week my sister got married, and didn't tell any of the family until after the fact. She is not a Christian, so they didn't do a church wedding, but went to a justice of the peace, and became legally married. The reason they didn't invite any of us was that they had planned to get married on a Wednesday in October, which is when all of their friends and family are busy with school and work. They chose that date because it was their 10th anniversary for dating. But next summer, they will have a big celebration, when more people will be able to make it.
Not that I need to be comparing myself, or that I feel all that bad----but I don't even have a girlfriend. My mom asked me just the other day (after finding out about my sister) "Brian are you getting married anytime soon?" No mom, usually you have to be dating first.
If all goes as planned, next summer I will be living on a cruise ship on the coast of Ghana and/or Liberia in Western Africa, so I won't have to attend a lot of these upcoming weddings, not that I dislike weddings, but most of these people are not really that close of friends with me. I am very glad that I will be able to make it to be in Brian's (my old room mate from Colorado and a close friend)wedding.
I guess that is the price I pay for being a 'world traveler' and spending over 1/3 of this year in foreign countries, I am not in one place long enough to find a girlfriend.
But don't lose heart friends, if I get in to nursing school next semester, I will be one of very few men, so the odds should be with me to at least meet some girls. Trust me when I say that I don't want to rush into a relationship just to be in one, but I would like to at least start meeting some girls and becoming friends with them. The only girls I see now are my room mates girlfriends.
Well, back to my busy life of work, then class, and then school work. God is good, all the time (yes that means even now when I can't understand all that he is doing).

Bro,

I'll be in town for Christmas time. Will you be around? I'd love to hang out.

oh ... and i'm glad to hear that you're not rushing the relationship thing. You still have five years between where you are and the age I was when I got married. So, by my thinking you're doing great.
