some clarification....

This post is in response and clarification to Crotty concerning the traveling ulitmate frisbee team I am on. Yes, it is a team that Whitworth has, and many other colleges too, around the U.S. the entire program is run by Ultimate Players Association, and there are different sections, for example at Whitworth we are in the Northwest section, and so we have weekly practices out at Whitworth, and then we go travel to different tournaments held by different schools, such as 'dirty deeds' a tournament we went to this spring over at Western Washington University, and then others such as UW, and Whitman, and Gonzaga all hold tournaments as well, and we go play. It is a lot like club soccer, only club ultimate frisbee, where each participant pays to play, we pay a 30 dollar UPA fee that is good for all year, and lets us get into the tournaments, and then we as a team have to pay a cover fee to get into each tournament, and then we had to pay for jerseys, and of course travel fees such as gasoline, and food. It is a lot of fun though. The team just started out at Whitworth this year, and so we are not great yet, but we are getting better, such as at Sectionals, the largest tourny we went to held up in Vancouver BC, we won 3 games. Anyone can be on the team, so long as they pay, and show up to practice, that may change in the future, if the team gets too big, but right now there are only about 17 guys on the team, so we each get plenty of playing time.
Speaking of Ultimate, later on today, I will be going down to manito park to play a pick up game with some friends. It is good diving conditions right now, raining, and not too cold. Oh the fun.
