It is true, yesterday was my 21st birthday. It was great. Classes were intriguing, and work was pretty easy, and I went out to dinner with my family. We went out to a nice resteraunt, and it was good to catch up with everyone. Then I came back to my dorm room, and I had a surprise party waiting for me in my room. Ten of my closest friends from campus had decorated my room, and we had a dance party. It was great, and then we went over to Nadia's apartment for a while.
Today I did not have any classes due to community building day, something whitworth does once a year where students can go out into the community and do some volunteer work in the morning. I didn't go, but slept in instead. Then I went over to get my ankle looked at again, and it is healing, but it still has a long way to go before I can play frisbee again. However, the nurse gave my some stronger prescription ibuprofen, and a cane. So I have been rocking the cane all day, and it is awesome, so much less cumbersome than crutches.
My birthday this year was great, I really felt loved, with seeing my family, and my friends having a party for me. I made a wish as I blew out the candles on the cake, and that wish was for another great 21 years of life, and that I would be a light to those placed in my life, and that I could give more than I take.
I don't really have much else to say right now, except that in anatomy we are learning about epithelial tissue, there are a few different ways to tell its function. Squamous, columnal, transitional and cubodial describe the shape of the cell, and simple or stratified, or psuedostratified describe how many layers there are. Pretty intersting stuff, the main purpose of these tissues is protection (such as skin) or secretion, or excretion (as in the pancreus, and kidneys). Just a random fact for you all.
I hope that you have a great evening!
