It is not always easy, in fact most days it is difficult. This is the inherent sin in our lives, and the feeling that 'we deserve better' but in all that time we spend looking to what 'we need' do we look at what we have, and do we ever thank God for that?
I am reminded of a song lyric, "it is not about getting what you want, but wanting what you have."
Right now, my ankle is still on the mend, and I wish that I could be off my crutches, but I know that in time I will be off. I hope that when that time comes, I could be in a constant state of thankfullness, and peace rather than looking for the next thing I 'need'.
This weekend will be mainly resting and healing for me, in hopes that by monday I can be off the crutches. But even if not, I can still love life, where I am right now. For the desires of this world are fleeting, and dead. Let us keep our hope and joy and drive in the one thing that we know to be true, and life giving, Jesus Christ. For with him, we will never find ourselves needing or wanting more. I hope that this new day brings something for all of us to be thankful for at the end of the day, and also that we would try to be a blessing to our neighbor.
