a safe and exciting trip, and now for a day of rest....

Our trip to Jinja, Uganda was great, we went up for 3 days. Our main purpose in going was to raft 30km of the white Nile, right out of lake Victoria. We had 3 eight man boats, and of the three, mine was the only one not to flip once. Which is pretty amazing, considering we rafted 4 class 5 rapids, 4 class 4 rapids, and 4 class 3 rapids. One of the girls bought a dvd that was shot of our day of rafting, and hopefully I can get a copy. I would have bought one, but $45 is a bit ridiculous for a 25 minuted dvd, not to mention after 3 months of not working, my funds are running a bit low. Pray that I don't contract Malaria, because where we were is prime spot for malarial mosquitos, and I got at least one bite. However, due to the nature of the disease, I won't show any symptoms for 14 days, so one week after I get home, and am starting work. I also hope I don't get it, because it is a lot more expensive to both test for and treat the disease in the U.S. and if I did get it, I would never be able to donate blood again.
Today we are going to have a day of rest here in Nairobi, and last minute shopping. Tomorrow morning we will leave for Massai Mara game park, where we will have a few days of safari before flying home on Monday night. I will arrive in Spokane sometime Tuesday afternoon or evening, not sure yet because I haven't looked at the plane ticket in a while.
It has been a great summer, and God has taught me a lot, but I am ready to come home. I am ready to see family and friends, and go to the lake cabin.
